First Bitcoin ATM exceeds USD 1 mln in transaction volume

Robocoin’s Bitcoin ATM has exceeded USD 1,000,000 CAD in volume from 1,576 transactions in one month.

According to an article shown on industry website The Paypers, the ATM scans a user’s palm and allows him to exchange cash for Bitcoin, or do the reverse. Customers can make up to USD 3,000 worth of Bitcoin exchanges per day.

Bitcoin is a descentralised digital currency and payment network. The currency is controlled by cryptography rather than by any corporation or central bank. Created as an open-source software project, Bitcoin enables users to transfer funds instantly to any other Bitcoin account holder in the world.
